ISSION STATEMENT



The Montclair PTO is an organization open to all teachers, parents, and guardians of Montclair School students. The primary function of the PTO is to offer a support system to the faculty and students of the school in order to enhance the educational experience at Montclair. Membership is open to all parents and guardians of pupils in the Montclair School and the Montclair Staff.

Montclair PTO Overview


WHO WE ARE: Montclair PTO is comprised of the parents, guardians and teachers of Montclair students. Every family is encouraged to join, there are many different ways to volunteer throughout the year.

WHAT WE DO: A LOT! Throughout the year the PTO organizes various fun educational activities to enhance the educational experiences of Montclair students. There are many ways to volunteer for the Harvest Hoedown, Holiday Bazaar, Ornament night, the Scholastic Book Sale, the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, the Montclair May Festival and the Ice Cream Social. These events are mostly self supporting.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED: Email us at Montclair_PTO@yahoo.com or sign up at open house or via the paper sent home with your child/ren. No email access, no problem, just drop us a note during the open house. To allow for all work schedules we hold some meetings in the AM and some in the evenings. Please let us know if you think you have an idea or a skill that will help at our events throughout the year. We all have busy lives and contributing some time will help make our Montclair School "A Great Place to Grow" AND your children will be thrilled to see you helping out at school.

FUNDRAISERS: Our primary fundraisers are the cash calender sales in February and the Montclair May Festival. (Although we occasionally have smaller scale winter fundraisers.)

Funds collected through these fundraisers are primarily used to enhance Montclair student's education experiences. Last year we were able to use the $15 donations to offset the cost of field trips, as an allocation of $5 per student to subscribe to the classroom magazines (i.e. Scholastic or Weekly Reader) complementing their lesson plans. Additionally teachers were given $50 to use for projects in there classrooms.
